Ms. Hendrickson: I'm an Appalachian girl that grew up in the heart of Harlan County, Kentucky in a tiny town in a valley called Evarts. When I was about 8 years old we moved to the side of a mountain, where my brother and I loved to swing on vines and go fishing in the ponds. When I was ten years old, I moved to London, Kentucky. I attended North Laurel Middle and High School, where I was on the dance team. I then attended Eastern Kentucky University and danced until my retirement in 2006. I taught my first year in a very diverse school in Lexington, Kentucky, and decided that I'd like to try something new and move somewhere where I didn't know many people. That's what brought me to Kenton County, Kentucky. I love Northern Kentucky and am so happy to have the wonderful classroom that I have.
